  • As mentioned in the benefits section, the financial assistance for non-graduate applicants is ₹25000 (being ₹15000 through Electronic Clearing Service and ₹10000 as National Savings Certificate)
  • And the financial assistance for graduate or diploma holder applicant is ₹50000 (being ₹20000 as National Savings Certificate and ₹30000 through Electronic Clearing Service)

Eligibility Criteria of Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme

The eligibility criteria to apply for the Tamilnadu Marriage Assistance Scheme are:

  • The person applying for the scheme should be a woman/girl
  • Should be hailing from a poor background 
  • Can also avail the benefit if they have had a inter caste marriage
  • If a widow gets remarried or if a daughter of a widow gets married 
  • The scheme also proves to be beneficial to orphan girls who have no one lean on or get assistance from. 
  • The scheme is also divided into categories based on which the financial assistance is provided
  • If the applicant is a graduate and/or a diploma holder, they can gain assistance of about ₹50000
  • And if the applicant is a non-graduate they can gain a financial assistance of about ₹25000
  • And women or girls belonging to both categories of graduate or non-graduate can gain a gold coin weighing 8 grams 22 carats gold coin for their Thirmangalyam (Mangal Sutra)

  • Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme
  • Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Intercaste Marriage Assistance Scheme 

The documents required to avail the scheme are as below:

  • Aadhar card
  • Marriage certificate 
  • Community certificate 
  • Bride educational certificate 
  • Marriage photo
  • Age proof of bride and groom

And the required documents vary as per the scheme in which the benefits are being gained by them, like in case of remarriage of a widow- the death certificate of the 1st husband, income certificate, if employed and destitute girl certificate, in case of orphaned girl.

How to apply online (step by step) for Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme

  • To enjoy the benefits of the Tamilnadu Marriage Assistance Scheme, the beneficiary can apply through the nearest available Common Service center. 
  • The agents appointed will fill the form on your behalf, and also the necessary documents provided to them for application.
  • The application form and the documents of the beneficiary will be scrutinized by the District Social Welfare Officer before confirming the same
  • The beneficiary will later be informed through Email or through SMS to their mobile number, regarding the application status
  • On acceptance, the financial assistance to be availed as under the desired scheme will be transferred to the account of the beneficiary.
