The scheme is called the Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme, run by the government of Karnataka in association with The Department of Co-Operatives.

The Objective of Yeshasvini Health Insurance 

The government of Karnataka’s first cooperative medical insurance healthcare scheme is none other than the Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme.

It provides quality healthcare to the people of lower-income sections of Karnataka. 

The main objective of the Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme is to provide medical services and maximise spreading the healthcare facilities to the needy people of Karnataka at a lower cost.

The scheme was first launched in 2003 to tackle poor healthcare facilities and the economic growth and well-being of the state. 

Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme Care facilities are also provided to the people who work as cooperative weavers, fishermen, bidi workers, and Stree Shakti Group.

Covers package of numerous diseases

Yeshasvini Health Insurance covers a wide range of diseases. The scheme likely covers more than 1650 medical procedures. 

 The cardholders get cashless benefits of such diseases at the network hospitals.

Up to 5 lakh cash insured

Through Yeshasvini Health Insurance the family members from lower income backgrounds get a huge amount of fixed sums. The cardholder along with 5 family members gets an annual coverage of 5 lakhs. 

Availability of Cashless Claims

The patient or the patient’s family member doesn’t need to go through the payment process or long billing section. The card insurer directly pays for the mentioned surgeries to Yeshasvini Health Insurance Schemenetwork hospitals. 

Covers Expensive Treatment 

Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme Insurance program covers an extensive amount of disease and hospital charges as well. It covers surgery costs, operation theatre charges, bed rent, consultation fees, medicine costs, anaesthetic fees, hospital costs, nurse charges etc with lower costs. 

Discounts on major treatment and diagnostic tests

The Yeshasvini Insurance Scheme covers medical treatments at a discounted rate to the network hospitals. The scheme originally excludes some diagnostic tests; however, the beneficiaries can satisfy the test cost at discounted rates.

Eligibility Criteria of Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme

Cooperative society members engaged in occupations such as beedi rolling, weaving, and fishing.
Individuals enrolled in self-help groups of District Central Cooperative Banks or Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies.
The person or family should not reside in city or corporate rural areas.

There are a few simple steps to register for the Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme online. Follow the steps below—

  • Visit the official website of the Department of Co-operation, Karnataka or follow the link  https://sahakara.kar.gov.in/Societies&Associations.html
  • Now, register for the co-operative society.
  • On the next page, click on “Apply online for Yeshashvini Heath Card”.
  • Fill in the required field in the registration form. 
  • Submit the form and you will get a user ID and password 
  • Now, go back to the homepage once again to log in. Enter the user ID and password
  • On the next page, you have to fill out the Yeshasvini Health Card Form
  • Fill in the form and submit it. You are ready to get the Yeshashvini Health Insurance benefits. 

How to get a Yeshasvini Health Card?

Follow the steps to get a Yeshashvini Health Card—

  • As mentioned above, the person needs to be a member of the cooperative society to get benefits. As per the rule, any Cooperative society can register new members.
  • They will issue a receipt Pay the premium in a nearby Cooperative bank. They will get a receipt. 
  • The cooperative society also provides a Unique Health Identification (UHID) registration form.
  • In the registration form, one needs to fill in the details such as name, address, Aadhaar card number, membership number and a family photo. 
  • Once all the information is filled and submitted you are ready to get the Yeshashvini Health Card.
  • Family Health Plan Insurance Limited will register all at e members and issue the Yeshashvini Health ID Card.
